Bolgheri Wine Tasting at Podere Conca: discover Agapanto and Elleboro

At the cellar of Podere Conca the delicate process of grape ageing takes place and gives back wines such as Agapanto Bolgheri DOC and Elleboro IGT Costa Toscana

Wine tasting in Podere Conca's garden

One of the most beloved activities by tourists and residents. Indeed, that’s a way to explore the world of wine production and to taste gastronomic farm-to-table products.

An occasion to get even closer to the territory and to explore the difficult job of wine production. Indeed, the product delivered is the result of months of work and wait together with skilful methods of cultivation.

The Bolgheri site, in the district of Livorno, boasts an actual “wine road”, where there are a lot of wine companies producing fine Tuscan wines and many of them offer tastings.

The strip of land where they are located is limited at one side by the Maremma coastline and the sea and at the other by hills. Thanks to this location, the climate is ideal to grow vineyards: the clay, sandy and alluvial ground, where sea breeze blows, is protected by cold winds thanks to the surrounding hills.

A ground that nourishes different types of grapes: from Ciliegiolo to Sauvignon Blanc, from Chardonnay to Viognier. Varieties giving birth to Agapanto and Elleboro blends.

Bolgheri Wine Tasting at Podere Conca

The production of Podere Conca wines is the realization of a dream pursued with patience and determination by the company founder Silvia Cirri.

While tasting Bolgheri wines, the wine lovers can also listen to the story of wine production, they can discover the reason why an organic cultivation of vineyards, free from chemical substances, was chosen, and the advantages offered by the traditional hand-harvest of grapes.

After harvesting, ageing takes place, for red wine Agapanto, 12 moths in tonneaux and barrels followed by 6 months in the bottle, while the white wine Elleboro is put in steel and then in the bottle.

During the tasting of Bolgheri wines, you will know the secrets linked to the birth of our wines and visit the cellar, where the wines stand and reach the right ageing.

Now it is the moment to taste them, and they emanate all their scents and organoleptic notes, which can be distinguished by nose and mouth. A tasteful selection of local gastronomic products is offered to accompany the tasting of Bolgheri wine.

Podere Conca organic extra virgin olive oil comes from the varieties Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino.

Harvest takes place from the end of October to the first days of November.

The result is a yellow-green oil with golden reflections with a fruity character to the nose and a light note of artichoke: a worthy example of Tuscan excellence.

We all are proud of how Podere Conca is growing and we like to share our commitment with our guests.

We look forward to seeing you and to tasting with you our DOC Bolgheri and IGT Costa Toscana wines together with other farm-to-table products: our own selection of charcuterie and cheeses produced by local farmers, who share with us the passion for this wonderful Tuscan area.
