Wine Blends: Our Blends from Different Grapes to Produce Unique and High-Quality Wines
The wine blend is an actual identity card able to tell us the origin and the history of the product. Discover Elleboro and Agapanto Blends
Wine blend is the word defining the oenological operation by means of which different wine varieties coming from different grapes are mixed.
Therefore, a wine blend, includes also the product made with only a type of grape harvested in different areas.
Many famous top quality Tuscan Wines are the result of a blend.
But beyond the technical definition, the wine blend is an actual art. The selection of grapes and the final flavour are the result of extensive studies that only who knows and understands this world can do
Good taste and excellent sense of smell are required to reach a quality wine blend. Bur creativity or risk are required too.
And Silvia Cirri accepted the risk at Podere Conca when she had the idea to create a wine blend mixing grape apparently far apart.
Indeed, Agapanto, the red wine DOC of Podere Conca features a peculiar wine blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Ciliegiolo. The result is an elegant and fresh red wine, highly fruity and with a bright colour. It offers a bouquet of red fruits to the nose and a good persistence in the mouth.
The use of Ciliegiolo for Agapanto was a calculated risk: at the beginning we experimented the wine blend using the wines of local producers from preselected vines.
The result was surprising, so we started immediately to work to create Agapanto.
The wine blend of the white wine of Podere Conca, Elleboro is peculiar too. The grape varieties are Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. In Elleboro we can find notes of summer yellow fruits, such as peach and apricot, whilst it offers an agreeable structure in the mouth.
Our wine blend are the result of extensive studies, which allowed us to offer a peculiar taste and a high-quality level.
