Silvia Cirri

Doctor and top clinician in Anesthetics, Reanimation, and Intensive Therapy at the Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio of the Gruppo San Donato in Milan, founder and vice-president of the non-profit group Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo (Coronary Children of the World) (www.bambinicardiopatici.it).

It was her idea to endow Podere Conca with a production of fine wine, involving as well her beloved grandson, Giovanni Gastel Jr and her childhood friend Livio Aloisi.
Silvia Cirri’s passion for the scientific method has animated the project since the very beginning as it joins together her profession as a physician, viticulture, and the art of winemaking.

Livio Aloisi

A “country gentleman” as Silvia Cirri – his great friend ever since his childhood days with whom he shares his love for Bolgheri and for Africa – affectionately defines him.
After working in the construction field for many years as CEO of the C.E.I.C. (Costruzioni Edili, Industriali e Civili – “Civil and Industrial Buildings and Constructions”) firm, he decided to dedicate himself to his landed possessions in the Marches where he cultivates – according to the rigid rules of organic agriculture which he has put in place at Bolgheri as well – alfalfa and cereals. And, additionally, to Bolgheri, where he worked with his brother-in-law Nicolò Incisa della Rocchetta and Nicolò’s father Mario, producers of the famed Sassicaia, before deciding to dedicate himself to the Podere Conca project.


Livio Aloisi

Nephew of the famed photographer of the same name and of Luchino Visconti, brother of his paternal grandmother Ida Pace Visconti di Modrone, he is the son of doctor Guido Gastel and of journalist and writer Minnie Cirri Gastel. In 2014, he published with Gallucci Editore his first novel, Spade. He is a contributor to magazines such as GQ, Urban, Riders e Lampoon. In 2016, the shooting of a documentary based on his novel began.

He decided to follow his aunt, Silvia Cirri, in the founding of Podere Conca, fascinated by the significance of the project and moved by the love he also felt for the territory of Bolgheri.
